There is no open source software dedicated to contract management. Nevertheless, many open source ECM solutions can be used for such case due to their low cost and great versatility.

For pure contract management, we would recommend Alfresco or Nuxeo 5.

DocMGR supports LDAP authentication, the ability to easily add and remove "objects" for storage in the system, document workflow, object subscriptions, WebDAV access, and an ever-growing set of features revolving around content storage.

Magnolia is an open source, J2EE deployable content management system (CMS). It uses the standard API for java content repositories (JCR) (JSR-170) to access its content.

Magnolia is an Enterprise Content Management System (ECM) developed by Magnolia International Ltd. (formerly obinary) and a community of international contributors. It is currently available in 15 languages including Russian, Chinese, English, French, German and Spanish. Magnolia uses the JSR-170 standard API to access its content. It has a web-browser interface, an API and a custom tag library for templating in JSP and Servlets.

Two editions exist, one free open source Community Edition, and a commercial Enterprise Edition that offers additional features and professional support covered though SLA's and provided by Magnolia International.

Quotero

Quotero provides a fully Open Source DMS. Designed for organisations of any size and any activity, Quotero is pretty fast and with interesting features like an Office plugin. Even if Quotero is pretty young compared to Alfresco or Nuxeo, it is a promising open source DMS.

jLibrary

jLibrary is a DMS (Document Management System), oriented for personal and enterprise use. This double approach make from jLibrary an unique product. With jLibrary, you can classify your documents, videos, or any other media type. You can export those contents to static web pages based on templates, search on those content, add comments, categorize it, etc.

OpenKM

OpenKM is an multiplatform application for document management based on open technology (JBoss + GWT + Jackrabbit). It allows the storage, classification and use of all kind of files and documents within an user friendly framework.

Maarch

Maarch is an Open Source framework for archiving and retrieving large volumes of static documents. In a certain way, it is designed as an IDARS product (Integrated Document Archiving and Retrieval System).

A content repository is a hierarchical content store with support for structured and unstructured content, full text search, versioning, transactions, observation, and more.
